Everyone knows how successful the commercial side of Fords business has been with vehicles such as the Ford Transit Van, but they also have another string to their bow with their 4x4 Ford Ranger.
There are few 4x4s that stand as tall and proud as the Ford Ranger, with the exception of the Toyota Land Cruiser or the Land Rover Discovery.
The Ranger is a good looking machine, white chrome trims and alloy wheels on most of its models. The interior matches the style of the exterior with more than the run of the mill furnishings. The drivers seat and driving position are both comforatble and the cab itself has plenty of space, with more than enough room for 3 additional passengers in the back. Depending on your needs there is also a two seat Regular Cab and a Super Cab version available.
Ford Rangers come with a choice of 2 different diesel engines, the 2.5 TDCi which can produce 140 bhp and the 3 liter TDCi which can power up to 153bhp. You can choose either manual or automatic versions and also 2 or 4 wheel drive.
The Ranger can manage up to 30 miles to the gallon and for those of you interested in the emissions side of things, it produces about 250g/km.
Most of the models can carry a load of up to around 1200kg which should be enough for most people.
Overall the Ford ranger is a great 4x4 pick up and it compares well with any of its rivals. With a price tag around the 20000 mark, plenty of people should be happy to part with their hard earned cash.
