If one of your main responsibilities at work is tagging items with price guns, things can probably get a bit boring at times. There's not a whole lot you can do to break up the potential tedium, but you can at least make the price tagging guns look cooler. How, you ask? There are a few ways -- take a look at a few ideas below:StickersWhat you need:
Lots and lots of stickers
Acrylic clear finishThis one's a no-brainer; just stick a bunch of stickers onto it. Apply an even coat of clear finish to prevent peeling.BedazzlingWhat you need:
Rhinestones
Super glue
Washable marker (optional)Depending on how much time you want to put into this, you can either glue a few rhinestones here and there (try either side of the trigger, or in a straight line along the top); use the marker to draw a design and then glue the stones along the lines; spell out the store's name in stones; or just go all out and cover every inch of the body of the price gun.PaintWhat you need:
Acrylic spray paint in color of your choice (try metallic gold for a hint of royalty)
Acrylic clear matte finish spray
Painter's tape (optional)Put tape over the parts of the gun you don't want painted (you could also try to carefully take the whole thing apart -- just make sure you'll be able to put it back together!) and apply 1 or 2 coats of paint to the body, allowing each coat time to dry completely before applying the next. Once the final coat dries, apply a coat of the finish. Once it's completely dried, remove the tape or put the price gun back together.EngravingWhat you need:
Engraving kit (you can get fairly inexpensive ones, though the process might be a little more painstaking than with a higher-rate one)
Washable marker (optional)Engrave the name of the store, the address, phone number into the side of the price gun. If there's a gun you're more partial to, engrave your name into it. You can also use the washable marker to make a design to engrave.FabricWhat you need:
About a yard of fabric of your choice
Scissors
Hot glue gun
Measuring tape (the kind seamstresses and tailors use)
Tracing paper
Painter's tape (optional)This one is a bit more involved than the others. Like with the paint idea, you can either put painter's tape over the trigger and other non-body parts, or you can take the whole thing apart (again, be sure you can put it back together if you do this). Use the tracing paper to create a pattern of the shape of the gun body, then use the pattern to cut out an appropriate piece (or pieces) of fabric. Squeeze a thin line of hot glue onto the edges of the price gun body, then carefully line up the fabric and gently press it on.Adding a little pizzazz to your price tagging guns is the easiest way to make the job of tagging items more bearable, plus the projects themselves are a lot of fun.
