Use sketchbook:

It might sound farfetched but it is true that your ideas will flow faster if you do not neglect your sketchbook and pen and paper. Doodle, scribble and jot down key ideas.

Forget colors, work on the design:

Don't think of colors while starting on the logo. Leave it for the end of the process. A good design is the soul, no amount of gradient or colors will be able to save your logo if the design is poor.

Don't use more than 2 fonts.

Do not use more than two fonts or you risk loss of coherence. Using too many fonts may seem conflicting.

Don't get too inspired.

Don't follow the pack.. Your logo needs to stand out. You can look and admire but don't get too inspired or your logo will subconsciously turn out to be a copy of something embedded deeply in your mind and heart. Make it unique.

Ask specific questions

Brainstorm a handful of ideas and get feedback from people who are involved in the logo creation as well as a stranger. Asking general questions and people's opinion is useless if you don't know what information you want to get, so when getting feedback, try asking specific questions.

Never use photos as logos

Photos are not vectors. They also don't scale, have no branding value and are hard to adapt for any use.

Go for precision

Rulers and guides are your best friends while working on the logo. Remember you're your logo is blown up to the size of a billboard, any millimeter out of line will be magnified.

Keep it consistent

It should be consistent with the nature of the company and business. What are you selling? Keep the nature of the industry in mind while designing. If it a sports company, its basic nature will be different from the nature of a textile company.

Have a catchy tagline

If possible have a catchy tagline to go with your logo.A simple message with a tagline can go a long way in convincing a client.

Keep your target audience in mind

Who are the people who are going to use and look at this logo ? Know your target audience. What is their profile? Gender? Which age group do they belong to?

If you keep the above discussed points in consideration, you will soon have winners in your portfolio. For more tips you can contact us at http://www.vistasadindia.com.
