If you enjoy traveling, you might want to put Bulgaria on your list of places to visit. Here, eastern and western European influences collide to create a land that is well worth visiting. Both naturally wonderful and captivating, the country of Bulgaria can be found on the Balkan Peninsula in southern Europe. With loads of history surrounding it, this is a fine destination for any who are looking to take a vacation. So if you think you may like to travel here, keep in mind that you will need a passport to travel internationally. If you are in a rush to get a passport you might want to consider using an online company that offers services like next day U.S. passport applications.

Online passport services are a great idea for anyone who would like to save themselves the stress of standing in line at a brick and mortar location. Since these services offer applications that are available to fill out 24 hours a day, it is much more convenient. Also, these websites will offer additional services for you to choose from such as pasport pages. However, regardless of your needs, going online will save you time and stress in the long run.

Bulgaria is full of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This special distinction is reserved for places and sites of great historical, cultural, or natural significance, and this makes them excellent places to visit while on vacation. Kazanluk Tomb is one of these places. A Thracian "beehive" tomb, Kazanluk Tomb is actually a part of a much bigger necropolis. The walls are decorated with depictions of a couple celebrating and other gestures. One of the women in the murals is actually depicted on the back of a Bulgarian coin. See if you can find her on the walls!

If you enjoy visiting historical religious locations, you would want to put some thought into checking out The Ivanovo Rock Churches. These various chapels, monasteries, and churches are all actually carved out of solid stone! This is quite a site to see! Inhabited by monks as early as 1220 A.D, these buildings still have very vivid Medieval frescoes on the walls. They also have multiple buildings to explore at each location so there will be no shortage of sites to see when you visit.

Another UNESCO World Heritage Site is Pirin National Park. As you probably can guess, this is one of the locations that is honored for its environmental significance. There are a huge number of different species of plants here that are located on 2 separate reserves. In fact, there are 1300 different types of plants which represent 30% of all the plants found in Bulgaria! However, not only are there a lot of different types of plants, but most are endemic to this region. This means that they are not found anywhere else on earth. Pirin is certainly not short on animal life either. There are 45 species of mammals representing 50% of the animals in the whole country!
