I attended my very first birth inside the mountains of Santa Cruz when i was only 18 years old. I was Instantly addicted.... I discovered work as a labor and postpartum doula and attended each homebirth that i could possibly. By the time it was my turn to give labor and birth, I had attended fairly a few births and previously delivered three babies, which includes one in a dead show parking lot. I believed that i would sooner or later be a midwife and labour support doula, but the first task at hand was to raise the baby in my personal hands. It was shortly following the birth of my child ( three years afterwards) that close friends began requesting me to deliver their children.
This motivated me to start practicing as a lay midwife. Given that then, I have attended about 200 births in diverse areas such as at home, hospital and a free standing birth center. I finished the California Challenge Process in 2007 and have been licensed in California since 2009. Now that my kids are grown, I'm free to concentrate on my very own love and calling of helping households by offering affordable alternative birth services, doula and postpartum doula services, as well as massage services to Santa Cruz and surrounding places.
