It's virtually guaranteed that anyone can get started using a brand new e-cig in minutes. Though they definitely work a little differently than traditional tobacco cigarettes, electronic cigarettes are actually very easy to use. The article shows you how to immediately begin using this product.
Unboxing the E-Cig
You need to take the whole package apart in order to begin your electronic cigarette experience. Most electronic cigarette brands ship with some battery charge so you should be able to get rolling right away. If you find your battery is completely drained, plug it in for a couple hours to charge and then come back to this walk-through.
The three primary components that should come together are a battery, atomizer and a cartridge. Locating those should be fairly easy. You can identify the battery by its length and the presence of a LED on its tip. You can identify the atomizer by the tiny braided metallic cord protruding from an end, and it will also likely be the smaller component in the packaging. Actually, the cartridge is nearly the size of the filter for a regular tobacco smoke and has the nicotine formula. Go on and remove the cover, since this needs to be done before it can be put together.
Putting the pieces together
Assembling the electronic is simple when you have got all the pieces together. Next, with most brands, the cartridge has an open end that fits on top of the atomizer's metal braided end.
Taking your first puff
The next step will be different depending on if you have an automatic or manual battery. If you can't tell, check the outside of your battery for a small button. If so, it's a manual battery, if not, it's automatic.
Those of you with automatic batteries can inhale lightly on the cartridge end of the assembled electronic cigarette after bringing it to your lips. If you have a manual battery you'll need to do the same thing only press the button on the battery at the same time you inhale. It might be good to do this while looking at a mirror to find out if the LED on the battery tip has a light. If that doesn't work your battery probably needs recharging.
If there is no vapor, but the LED is illuminated, take a pull for a few seconds, pause, then take another pull. Occasionally the nicotine solution will take a while to make its way to the atomizer, so you may need to repeat this process five to ten times.
If you've done this for a bit and still aren't getting any vapor, try hitting a little bit harder, although you shouldn't have to hit any harder than a traditional smoke at any point.
Now is the step that you can expect to see a good amount of vapor production. New atomizers usually require one or two days to actually start working the way they are supposed to, and some have an odd taste in the beginning. That's normal and should wear off in about a day.
If you're still not getting any vapor production, slide the cartridge off the atomizer. Is the wick moist? It should have some nicotine solution on it. It is is wet and you don't have a vapor, your atomizer might be dead. But, it if isn't wet, your nicotine formula may not be receiving the atomizer like it is supposed to.
You can check inside the cartridge at this point with tweezers or something and you should find a small fabric ball about the size of the head of a q-tip. The nicotine solution should moisten the fabric. If not, your cartridge is empty.
If it all appears to be good and you still don't have any vapor, you need to get in contact with the company you bought it from to get a replacement.
