Duvets and our search for them
Duvets and our search for them

Well it was that time in our lives to redecorate our rooms, and we started with the bedding. Fashion duvets seem to be a big hit this year so that was the start of our journey on finding Duvet bedding. So many varieties are available both online and in department stores that it was fun to just start searching online and by hitting up stores too. Online is just so much easier though.

The wow factor of all the fabrics and qualities, detailed prints, and fancy embroidery work, was very cool. We found them with flowers and nature themes galore. Some of the most beautiful Duvets for my taste and like's, are the animal print Duvets, but the hubbies tastes are just a little bit more simplistic. As for my likings, most of the Duvet bedding covers that are animal prints, are available in leopard, tiger, mink, zebra, fox, and pretty much anything animal you can imagine. Some are made of a faux fur and some just a light silky material. We also found animal prints and contemporary print Duvet coverings in a metallic material that was fascinating to the eye and to the touch, for sure. Looking at them, although beautiful, we thought they would be harsh and scratchy to the touch, but we found that that was not so at all, as they were super soft too. The jacquard pattern was very unique in the metallic fabric, let alone very cool looking.

The new textured fabrics of these modern day Duvets come in a variety of colors and sizes. We kind of agreed that the metallic materials were going to be what we would go with for our own master bedroom. Not so much for our kids rooms though. They really liked the soft, crushed velvet type of Duvets, so we figured that's what they would be getting, since they dug that the most.

For our room, we went with the silver and shiny metallic duvet, as it went real well with the black lacquer and frosted glass accents that are all over our room. The duvets that we chose were awesome. We were even able to find a sheet for under that duvet that was silver/grey, and did it pop to the eyes when the duvet was pulled back.

Our youngest boys room duvets that we went with, was a pretty easy decision on what type to get for him. We chose his favorite animal, which is a zebra. The zebra print duvets were so cool but took some time to find. His whole room has zebra stuff everywhere you look, so I guess we just added to his fixation with that striped animal.

The duvets that were to be chosen for our ten year old girl's room had to be more of a girly girl choice. She likes anything that has dangling fuzzy things on it and she is in love with the color purple, so the duvets had to have that look and color, or at least match her obsession with some sort of dangling fuzzy things. We couldn't really find duvets with that stuff, but we were able to get some pillow cases that matched the duvets, and they totally matched the color too. Plus, they had those soft fringe things all over them in the purple color that she adores so much.

Overall, whether we searched online or if we actually went to a department store, we had a blast with changing up the bedding in all of our rooms. Duvets are definitely the way to go, if we may so ourselves.
