subject: Notion Ink Demos Potential Apple Ipad Killer [print this page]

The Adam is a 10-inch Dtablet starting at $375.33, and runs on a customized Eden UI which combines elements from Android 2.3 and 3.0. Pre-orders began two weeks ago, although the company has not confirmed a shipment date.

In a blog post Rohan Shravan, founder and CEO of Notion Ink, said he wanted to wait until CES to demo the Adam, "but I can't stand against all of you."

The wordless video shows off the Adam's super-responsive touch screen and processing speeds even while running several heavy apps at a time. According to the blog post, the tablet in the video is loaded to mimic the device of a heavy user but doesn't show HD video playback and high definition games "you have already seen on all the Tegra Capable devices."

According to the demo, the Adam appears capable of performing all sorts of tasks with one finger, unlike the Apple iPad, like stretching content and scrolling through a page. Furthermore an app can be launched with multiple panes and users can activate one pane at a time, while freezing the rest, with a tap. Watch the video below the jump.

Earlier, Shravan said he planned to wait until CES (January 6-9, 2011) to demo the Adam: "CES is where we intended to demo, show everything and allow for review, else there is no point for a good CES event" but as commenters and reporters became increasingly antagonistic and dubious about its existence at all, Shravan agreed to release an "in-depth video" on December 18th.

In today's post he added that from today onwards, he will post one video per day showing off an application or "principle" on the Adam.
