One of the most advantages the net has brought us is the ability to access vast amounts of knowledge on just about any topic you choose. That they had spent their entire careers up to that time operating in terribly similar roles at the same bank. But that is where the similarity ended. They were as totally different as chalk and cheese and required terribly completely different approaches in terms of the coaching process.

A correct career steerage process starts with assessment and understanding. It is virtually not possible to proffer any kind of recommendation to a client until you understand ALL the factors that have brought him to you. Visiting a job web site and having a CV / Resume redone and receiving varying degrees of advice on job searching techniques might (and I stress the word is MAY) facilitate in a very job search. However this technique can not help in understanding and setting career objectives or noting what alternative jobs or roles your skills and skills can be transferred to. This can be career steering not simple job hunting. Career steering is a strategic exercise, whereas job searching is tactical.

If recommendation is free then everybody uses it! Meaning that it's very onerous to distinguish yourself from different candidates (a necessary ability in job looking)
