1. Content is still KING of the Jungle! The best way to draw traffic to your site and KEEP them coming back is to develop good, relative content. The easiest way to to have a constant string of FRESH, unique content is to start a BLOG. Make it fresh, relevant and update it frequently with your original and unique writings about your industry.
2. Rankings are not everything - Especially when it comes to PR (Page Rank). This is a numerical value assigned by google to your site and it may actually change based on the Search Engine updates that happen quite frequently. Try not to worry so much about it or your search engine results page ranking. Work on your content, your site authority (link building) and everything else will take care of itself.
3. Patience This is the most valuable piece of information I can give you....SEO is a process that can take up to 6 months and in some cases over a year to rank effectively for highly competitive keywords. Be patient, trust the process and watch the results.
4. Keep it clean - No matter how tempting it might be...avoid "black-hat" SEO practices at all costs! You might actually get to the top of Google in one week. The question is, how long will you stay there and if you get caught...how long will your site be off the radar and not searchable all together? It's just not worth the risk.
