Did you see the Belgian model, Tanja Kiewitzs latest ad campaign? Shes stunningly featured in a black Wonderbra while posing for an ad to raise sensitivity and awareness for people with disabilities. You see, the ad also prominently features her left arm, which ends just below her elbow and has been that way since birth.
The ad says Regardez-Moi Dans Les YeuxJai Dit Les Yeux. For those of us who are a little too far removed from our high school foreign language lessons, it says, Look me in the eyesI said the eyes. Its a fresh take on the concern women express about men ogling their bodies during conversation instead of showing a level of respect by looking them in their eyes.
As provocative as the ad is, it speaks volumes about the emphasis society places on our appearance and the misconceptions people associate with it. When you consider your hygiene, whether its how frequently you shave, whether or not you color your hair, which scented products you use, or the appearance of your smile, how do you rank whats important and decide on what youll tend to?
