Former Vikes DE Jim Marshall Thinks regulations safeguarding QBs Are 'Absolutely Ridiculous'

Atlanta Falcons Jerseys Onlineshop webeditor report:

It's an impressive point the Vikings gave Jared Allen all that money within the offseason (although experienced he acknowledged Barack Obama was going to consider fifty percent of it, he might've asked for more) considering he's out $75,000 within the final 10 times for a lot of on-field transgressions. Two-and-a-half weeks ago, Allen tried to manually take out both of Matt Schaub's legs, and Sunday versus the Packers, he roughed up Aaron Rodgers (see switching pics above).

Via the celeb Tribune's entry Vikings blog, Chip Scoggins writes that previous Vikes defensive finish Jim Marshall halted by work out and was type sufficient to concentrate on his feelings on today's fine-happy NFL.

"I really feel it's crazy," he said. "I really feel it's just entirely ridiculous. hockey is often a tough game. They've relatively much used the quarterback while using defense that he's got, you can't fixed your hands on him, you can't contact him. If you are within the refreshing air and he will get the ball far from and you also happen to strike him, they desire to good you. You can't perform all-out if you are performing individuals sorts of things. They obtained too very many regulations now. ...

[Scoggins] asked Marshall how much he would be fined for hits if he performed today.

"Oh man, while using regulations they've obtained today, i'd get no salary and likely be suspended for most while using season," he said. "It's just crazy."

Marshall additional that he's an enormous admirer of Allen's: "He's performing this form of a good employment ... he's only one hell of the hockey player. I actually admire him."

Schaub could possibly disagree, but Marshall's general point is often an impressive one: the NFL's insistence on safeguarding quarterbacks, even in the risk of altering what it really signifies to perform tackle football, is absurd. Just not as absurd as this.
