What is PPV?

The question of what PPV is all about has been plaguing the market in the past couple of years. This acronym stands for "pay per view", a term popularly being used in television shows and different kinds of sports, like boxing, football and soccer. Today, it has found its place in the World Wide Web as a newly developed form of marketing. However, it is much different than other predominantly existing forms of online marketing such as PPC or pay per click, article marketing and even the social network marketing or Facebook marketing. While all of these types of marketing promise the same thing, i.e. a huge boost in traffic, it is also important to remember that pay per view is better and more affordable than any of these mentioned marketing techniques.

There are numerous advantages of choosing PPV over other marketing strategies such as PPC. Firstly, PPC or pay per click costs are much higher, around $0.10 up to $0.50 per click. The website owner will automatically be charged such amount once any person using a computer clicks the website link. The worst part here is that it is also prone to fraudsters, since there is a high chance of a computer software/program being used, such as scripts, in order to automatically click a website or webpage link numerous times. This is not the case with pay per view, since the website owner will only be charged the moment a person or individual "views" the website for at least 30 seconds. The best part here is that the cost is very cheap and affordable, around $0.10 per view.

Secondly, PPV does not involve lengthy text, like article marketing. In article marketing, the article being used must be very enticing in order to make the reader a potential buyer or subscriber. However, in order to become enticing, articles tend to be made up of hundreds or even thousands of words. In this day and age, people will not bother to read lengthy articles, since it is time consuming. This is the main difference with pay per view, since the potential buyer or subscriber just needs to view the website or webpage for 30 seconds or less. Such a short amount of time is enough to entice the person viewing the website to make up his or her mind into subscribing or becoming a buyer.

Lastly, PPV or pay per view is not comprised of spam messages and emails. This is in stark contrast with Facebook marketing or the use of social network sites for marketing. In pay per view, what you see is what you get. The viewer of the website is not given the runaround. There is no beating around the bush. This is unlike social network marketing that is full of unnecessary spam and links that only tire out the want of potential customers to buy or avail of the product or service being endorsed by the website or webpage in question. If you want to save money and at the same time promote your business using your website, it is highly recommended that you use the pay per view method as soon as you can!
