subject: Errors In Printing Brochures [print this page]

We must admit that as clients we are not too familiar with the printing jargon or the printing cycle. We do not get into the technicality of things but we appeal more to the visual. However, printing brochures are not as easy as telling time. There are measurements to consider, color percentages to mix, trimmings to take care of. Not familiar, right? Despite our unfamiliarity with the brochure printing services, we should ask, ask, and ask so we get to be familiar. Below are the five most common mistakes we, as clients, make in printing brochures:

3 Most Common Mistakes when Printing brochures

1.Be clear with your message. This is the first mistake we make. We are not clear on what we want. Do we want a brochure, a postcard, a leaflet? After deciding, we must know how we want it done. The paper, the layout design, the size of the paper. Are there pictures? What size do we want our pictures to appear in the brochure? These are all part of the printing cycle. If this is not clear, all else is not clear.

2.Plan for lead time. Brochure printing services are not magicians. They do not print our orders in 24 hours especially if it is a brochure with a 4-color printing. Give ample time for our printers to print our requests. Discuss in advance the lead time needed so we could comply if there are materials gathering needed. There are rules to follow once our proof or blueprints have been signed and approved by us. Why is this? Because we just do not know that one small mistake in our eyes would mean one whole page of re-lay outing or re-printing them. So once the proof is with you check, check and check!

3.Agree on a delivery date. This is where we always fight with our brochure printing services. We thought that after we signed and approved the blue print or proof today, tomorrow, our orders are delivered. Printing is one part, folding is another, packaging is yet another. After they print our brochure, if there needs some folding, folding is done and finally packing it for delivery to us.

See how it goes? This are simple things but creates the whole relationship we have with our printers. There are reliable brochure printing services who can give us the best customer service and great quality prints. Check on UPrinting.com.
