They will also get that email in their Facebook inbox, and pretty much EVERYBODY reads their FB mail. Essentially you are building your own list of interested prospects within the confines of FB.

Its important to give all your page visitors some good value and offer them something worthwhile in exchange for their name and email. This is most likely going to be an informational product of some description, maybe a video or eBook, you want people to 1) click the 'like' button and 2) give you their name and email address and subscribe to your list. This is a powerful lead generation method as you get double whammy from each lead!

A fanpage is also great for social proof (the most powerful selling tool). You will have more credibility the more fans you get, which is great for new prospects who find you!

Once you have you fan page up and running the next thing is obviously to get traffic to it. You can download a badge code from FB to put on your website. People can 'like' you directly from your website. Personally I have found the badges to be very effective, you can also have an update showing all the latest posts on your fan page

Its quick & easy to set up a fanpage and will be a real asset to your business! Just create a page, decide on your offer for prospects to opt in to your list, create the graphics and code and your good to go.
