Lose Fat Gain Muscles with the Right Muscle Workouts

There are all sorts of different ways to train in the gym for the best muscle workouts. There is a big difference between training effectively and just showing up and going through the motions. After years of research and experience, I have come up with some good ways to gain maximum results from your workouts.

I have been frequently asked whether cardio is more effective before or after a weight training session. I have found that the best way to maximize a workout consisting of both weights and cardio is to begin with weights. I can typically keep a weight training session to 30 minutes or less. The key to reducing time on the weights is simply to reduce time between sets. In other words, less rest will help ramp up your heart rate up. The increased heart rate will allow your body to burn more calories. It also serves as a good warm up prior to jumping on the cardio machine. If your heart rate is spiked due to weight training, the more calories you will burn on the treadmill, stair climber, or whatever cardio machine you choose.

If you've ever tried doing cardio before weights, you've probably discovered two things. First, you've noticed that it took a bit longer for your heart rate to increase compared to doing cardio after weight training. Second, you probably discovered that your strength has been depleted, especially if your cardio session was vigorous. I typically try to keep my rest during weight training to 30-to-60 seconds between each set, no matter how light or heavy the poundages are for each specific set.

If you are just starting or getting back into working out, start slow. Build up your endurance before you attempt to minimize your rest between weight lifting sets. If you have a history of health related issues, you might want to consult with your doctor before jumping into any hardcore workouts.

Regardless of whether you are a beginner, getting back into the gym, or have been training for years, cardio after weight or strength training will help maximize your efforts and give your body the look that you are seeking.
