subject: Web Browser - Know How To Remove Web Browser [print this page]

Even though Web browser is one of my favorite antivirus products, there have been times when I've needed to uninstall or remove Web browser. Corrupted virus signatures have caused it not to update properly, or it wont start properly and it needs to be reinstalled. Maybe corrupted files are causing 100% CPU usage. These and other issues can cause you to uninstall and reinstall your antivirus product.

Whatever the reason for needing to get rid of Web browser, I've listed the best procedure for doing this below:

Uninstall Web browser in Windows XP:

Step 1 From the Start Menu, select Control Panel.

Step 2 Click the Add or Remove Programs icon.

Step 3 Select Web browser and click Remove.

Uninstall Web browser in Windows XP in Classic View and 2000:

Step 5 A restart is required after you perform all of the above steps.

Uninstall Web browser in Windows Vista:

Step 1 Click on the Windows button at the bottom left of the screen. Then click on "Control Panel" on the right hand side of the menu that appears.

Step 2 Now, click on the "Programs" icon in the window that appears.

Step 3 Next, click "Programs and Features" in the list that appears. You will see a list being populated with all available programs. It may take a minute or two for this list to be completed, so wait until your cursor icon returns to normal from its "working" mode.

Step 4 Now you can click on any program you want to remove. Simply select it, and then click "Uninstall" at the top of the screen.

Step 5 Follow any instructions that appear on screen.

Step 6 A reboot is required and then you may find a folder left in the installed tray.

Step 3 Click Uninstall A Program, and this can be found beneath "Programs"

Step 4 Find Web browser and Double click it.

You can also select the program you wish to uninstall and a button will appear at the top (next to Organize) saying "Uninstall". Just click on that button and proceed to the next.

Step 5 A message box may appear asking if you want to completely remove Web browser and it's components. Simply select Yes and proceed with the uninstall.

Depending on the program you want to uninstall, you may see different message boxes.
