Polyester resin with high strength and marble dust commonly make up cultured marble making it tougher than regular marble. For this reason, they are oftentimes used in the flooring and walls of the bathroom. Apart from this, they are also used in making bathroom products like shower pans, bathtubs, shower bases and surrounds. Cleaning cultured marble is easy yet there are several things that must be avoided to keep this type of flooring in its pristine condition.

Keep these marbles beautiful by cleaning them regularly. To prevent water stains on them, make it a habit to squeeze the remaining water from the shower base and surrounding areas. In removing stubborn stains of water and soap, spray vinegar on it. Let it stay there for at least half an hour. Remove the vinegar and the stains with clean water and dry the marble immediately with soft cloth.

Abrasive cleaners and cleaners containing harsh chemicals must not be used on them. Use of such materials may scratch the marble and destroy the seal on its surface. In cleaning, mild soap or detergent cleaner must be used. The cleaner must be sprayed on it and wiped with soft cloth. Never clean them without wetting the surface.

Hard to remove stains may demand you to use harsher and stronger cleaner. Some harsher cleaners that are used by many are paint thinner, denatured alcohol or turpentine. To ensure that these are safe on your marble, apply small amount of the cleaner on a small portion of the marble first to test it. If you are still uncertain on what to use in removing stubborn stains, you can also ask a professional or your manufacturer.

After some time, the shiny look of the cultured marble fades but this can be restored by waxing and polishing it. Countertop wax, car wax, water and silica are among the things that can be used in waxing and polishing your cultured marble. Avoid getting it damaged by not exposing it to hot water and using harsh cleaners.

Now you won't have a hard time figuring out how to clean your cultured marble. With the proper cleaning procedures, your marble will surely last for ages.
