The HTC Wildfire has a 3.2 inch capacitive touch screen display with pinch-to-zoom capabilities and is running the Android 2.1 operating system (Eclair) with the SDense user interface offering a fast and intuitive experience to friends, social networks and more. There is impressive entertainment as well as a 5 megapixel camera for video recording and capturing those good times in pictures.

The handset features an impressive Caller ID which uses the Facebook integration to display birthday reminders, as well as the Friend Stream application which shows friends latest status updates alongside their contact details as you flick through contacts on the handset. The web browser has full HTML and Flash support while the App sharing feature provides a simple way to tell friends what your favourite applications are, and provides a link for them to download them too. The ringer automatically lowers its volume when the handset is picked up, and if placed down on its screen, the ringer mutes altogether.

The Wildfire features a 5 megapixel auto focus camera with flash for use in poor light, and offers automatic location based tagging (Geotagging) for images and videos captured. Both media can be viewed back with the preloaded Photos application on the large display, while they can also be instantly shared with friends through multimedia messaging, email or the integrated social networks Facebook and Twitter respectively. Additionally, photos can be shared to Flickr and videos to YouTube. Twittering is also made easier with the Peep application, and Facebook is enhanced by the Sense user interface.

Connectivity offered includes Bluetooth 2.1 with ENhanced Data Rate (EDR) with the A2DP profile for use with wireless stereo headsets along with easy file sharing options provided by FIle Transfer Protocol and Object Push Protocol (FTP and OPP respectively), among other profiles present. Further file sharing and syncing can also be achieved with the standard microUSB connector with USB 2.0 also providing internet sharing. This is aided by the HTC Sync Suite. The phones memory meanwhile is 512 megabytes of internal read-only memory, and a microSD card slot providing up to 32 gigabytes of storage memory in total. Meanwhile, the Android 2.1 operating system which provides multitasking capabilities is kept powered by the impressive 384 megabytes of random access memory in addition to the 528 Megahertz processor.
