A tower is a fortress, which rises above all other buildings and it is stronger than all of them. It serves as a refuge or shelter from danger. If a tower can be all these in the physical, then our God is stronger than the physical tower. In the spiritual, a tower represents the finished works of God or His grace.
The bible says in Proverbs 18:10-11, "The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. The wealth of the rich is their fortified city; they imagine it as an unscalable wall." Our God is a strong fortress and when we run to Him, we are safe in His hands. If you run to man, there is no guarantee that you will be safe.
God is the Jehovah, the "I AM" and He will be whatever you want Him to be in your life. We can run to Him anytime for shelter and safety. He has His Hands open at all times to receive us and help us in time of difficulties. Our first point of call should be at Jehovah's door because we know we will be safe there.
We look up to God as Jehovah El-Shaddai, the Almighty God. His Word says in Genesis 17:1b, "I am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless." When you walk before the Almighty God, obey Him and live as you should, you will feel safe and secure in His love. He is Jehovah El-Roi, the God who sees all you are going through. He also sees your heart at any given time. He wants you to run to Him for help, support and encouragement.
God's military name is Jehovah Sabeoth, the God of forces. He is our "Commander-in-Chief" and He trains our hands for battle. If you feel the pressure of life, I encourage you to run to God and shift the load from your shoulders to His, as He can handle it. He will give you His shield of victory and His right Hand will sustain you. He will arm you with strength and make your way perfect. He will make wide steps beneath your feet so that you need never slip. He will pay back those who harm you and subdue nations before you. Our God will hold you safely out of the reach of your enemies and will rescue you miraculously.
God is Elo-Am, the everlasting God, who reigns forever. He is robed in majesty and is armed with strength. His throne was established long ago and He is from all eternity. He has reigned from pre-historic times, from the everlasting past and holiness is forever the keynote of His reign. He is mightier than the thunder of great waters and mightier than the breakers of the sea. Alleluia!
We are all privileged to serve this great God and we can exalt His name forever. He is always there waiting for us to run to Him. He will never turn us away as He has great love for all of us, unconditionally. Praise Jehovah forevermore!
