subject: 3 Electronic Cellulite Treatments [print this page]

Several electronic cellulite treatments are available nowadays done by cosmetic surgeons or at medical spas that help in reduction of cellulite.

To discuss some of the common techniques for the cellulite treatment, the first thing that comes to mind is Velashape. It is the treatment that blasts cellulite from the sensitive areas buttocks, stomach and thighs. This technique includes the application of radio frequency, infrared light therapy, mechanical massage and vacuum suction to give smooth skin surface by blasting the cellulites. Velashape shrinks the fat cell size and the chambers under the skin surface by increasing lymphatic drainage. This reduces bloating. Velashape is not surgically too good as it is quite time consuming. This is because a number of sessions are recommended for achieving good results and each session would cost you $300-$500, making it an expensive solution as well. The best person or the place to give an approximation would be your physician or the medical spa. However, according to the Plastic Surgery portal, a patient will require Velashape therapy of about $1500 on an average.

Mesotherapy is another cellulite treatment that requires the application of injection on the cellulite affected areas of your skin. But make sure you discuss all pros and cons with your doctor before application of this therapy. That is because this therapy requires the introduction of several ingredients into the body and their reaction may differ from person to person. So the confirmation for the dosage requirement from the physician is solicited. The basic components that comprise the Mesotherapy injections are:

i)Artichoke extract

ii)Caffeine

iii)Biotin (Naturally found protein in the body)

iv)Enzymes like Collagenase

v)Glycolic acid, chemically it is an alpha hydroxy acid

vi)Hyaluronic acid used as injectible filler for its lysogenic property.

vii) Lidocaine, an anesthetic.

viii)L-carnatine, a combination of amino acid methionine and lysine.

ix) Retinoic acid, an oxidized form ofVitamin A and

x)Multivitamins

In this therapy, the injection is applied into the subcutaneous fat in the dermis layer of the skin that breaks up the cellulites by attacking the fat cells. It is of non invasive type treatment as it is applied by the injections and its effect is restricted to specific portions of application. Multiple sessions are needed in order to get good results where each session may cost between $250 and $350. So a consultation with your physician is required before applying this method of cellulite treatment.

Thermage is another method of cellulite treatment that claims to tone, firm and tighten the skin by the reduction of cellulites. This method is also used on the face for the anti-aging treatments. Thermage administers the application of capacitive radio frequency that stimulates the collagen production eventually by tightening the skin collagen fibres and by increased tissue blood circulation. This results a good looking, younger skin. This is a quick, one treatment costing around $2000 which is at par with the other conventional mode of cellulite treatment.
