Etihad Airways the national carrier of UAE head quartered at Abu Dhabi airport commenced its first flights to Seoul the capital of South Korea on December 10th operating from Abu Dhabi.

Etihad Airways is counted among the worlds fastest growing airline and has started its 65th service in a short span of only seven years. The inaugural flight to South Korea, Flight number EY876 departed from Abu Dhabi at 22:45 and arrived at Incheon Airport Seoul South Korea at 12:05 December 12th (local times).

Etihad CEO James Hogan said at this occasion:

We are delighted to commence services to South Korea, which has been a target destination for us for some time,

He further added:

There is a strong relationship between South Korea and the United Arab Emirates, built over a 40-year history of bilateral trade relationships between the countries. He also said: The UAE is continuing to build relationships with South Korea across a number of industries including energy, construction and infrastructure. Etihads commencement of services will also see a real focus on building a partnership in tourism and travel which is of great benefit to both nations,

This new flight service is a code-share product of Etihad and Asiana Airline (OZ) that underwent a code share agreement with Etihad in October this year. The airline will continue operating a daily flight service between Abu Dhabi and Seoul and using an Airbus A330-200 aircraft deployed with all three class of services, Business, Premium and Economy. These return flights with Etihad Airways will offer 2,800 seats each week on the South Korea route.

Asiana Airways is one of South Koreas two major airlines and offers flights to Taipei, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou. Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Kota Kinabalu (Borneo), Penang, Manila, Bangkok, Cebu, Hanoi, Ho chi Minh city and other destinations all across Europe, USA, and Australia.

Whereas Etihad covers the whole middle east and offers competitive fares to African destinations as well in addition to flights to UK and Europe.
