Girls School Uniforms Are Not Uniform?

Some children love to wear their school uniforms, while others dislike the idea. The former group often enjoy the feel-good factor of a shared identity with their classmates, while the latter hate the idea of losing their distinctiveness. Let us be honest, some kids cannot bear the idea of not being able to showcase their best designer gear! The admission of boys and girls school uniforms can initiate tension both in the school and at pupils home.

The reputation of designer clothing is part of the reason why school uniforms are becoming more and more commonplace. When school children do not have the privilege to wear expensive designer clothes and shoes, this helps reduce the possibility of children being judged and bullied by what they wear.

There is a wide range of clothing available for parents and academics to choose from. Removing unlimited choice in clothing options no longer means that each pupil looks precisely the same. It is not unexpected that there are more variety of styles available to girls than boys.

Girls have the choice of wearing pinafores, skirts, dresses or pants, although some schools stop girls wearing pants. There is also a choice in types of shirts to wear, long sleeved or short sleeve, polo shirts or blouses. In cases were religion is an issue, alteration can be made to the uniform to accommodate most religious stipulations.

Where girls are required to wear shorts for sports activities, there is now the choice of wearing 'Skirts', which are a blend of the short and the skirt and can be worn very modestly. School blazers and jumpers are items that do not differ whatever gender is catered for; exactly the same designs are more often than not offered to both boys and girls.

The range of school uniforms has increased dramatically with the growing popularity of regulation school clothes, and many schools have their own school showroom which exclusively sells items to its pupils. As other schools see that not only can school uniforms reduce disruption in the classroom and playground, it can also build a new stream of revenue for the school, this popularity is bound to increase further.
