subject: How To Design A Perfect Logo For Your Business [print this page] If you find yourself in the position of need to design a logo, with no idea how, then I'm here to help you. There are many reasons why you would need to design a logo, and whatever it is there's no reason why you can't make the perfect logo.
The first thing your going to need is to come up with a concept. Now obviously there is a very wide scope for this, from animals, to weird symbols, there is something available for everyone's taste. You only need to look around at some major brands and bands logo's and you'll easily get some inspiration. You'll need to make sure whatever you choose hasn't been done too many times before, as you'll want it to be original.
Its advisable to try and tie the logo idea into the brand or band name, or what the brand is about. For instance if the logo is for a shop selling supplies for horse riding, its probably a good idea to have a horse on the logo, if your in a shop that sells coffee, you'll want something coffee related on the logo!
Once you have decided what kind of thing you want as your logo, your going to need to make it unique. You are not going to want to copy someone elses idea, as this could lead to copyright issues. I advise you make sure your idea is completely unique, original, and good. I can't really give you any more tips at this stage, as if I do its likely everyone's logo's will come out looking the same!
Now once you've finished with the picture part of the logo, your more than likely going to need to add some text. This part is optional, you may well decide that text will not work with your logo, so if you decide to leave it out, its not a problem.
Again you'll need to make sure this text is unique, I advise creating your own font, as you will find most fonts have already been used by others before you, and are more than likely copyrighted. You'll usually just be putting your brand name in this font, so you only need to create the letters of the font that are in your brand name.
Once you have created the text, you'll need to add it to the logo. Placement is very important, so get a few peoples opinions on it. What looks good to you, will not necessarily look good to everyone else. So make sure other people like your design.
You're almost finished with your logo, so all you need to do is make sure it hasn't been done before, and that other people like it. To do this, show it to a group of your friends, they should be able to give you information on what they like about it, and what they don't like about it, as well as pointing out if any of it has been done before.
Hopefully this guide will help you make great logo's!
