How to Cure Social Anxiety Do's and Don'ts to Cure Social Anxiety

When trying to cure social anxiety there are many things you should and shouldn't do. I've created a simple list of the things you should avoid, or do, when trying to eliminate this particular anxiety disorder. Doing the things you aren't supposed to do might worsen your anxiety: so listen carefully!

Do's

Get a good night sleep. When you don't sleep the amount of hours your body requires you are much more vulnerable to anxiety. Generally, people who have a good night sleep are calmer and more rested during social interactions. Beware; too much sleep isn't any better!

Have a healthy diet and exercise regularly. Eating healthier and exercising daily will also ease your anxiety. Exercising increases the endorphin levels in the brain making you feel much better over time. These things will really help you overcome certain social situations you once feared.

Don'ts

Don't smoke! Nicotine is a pretty strong stimulant. The more you smoke, the higher your level of anxiety gets. You may feel calmer after smoking, but physically, you aren't.

Don't drink too much! Even though it is very tempting to have a few drinks at parties to ease the tension, it is recommended you don't drink too much. Alcohol increases your risks of having an anxiety attack. It might seem like a temporary path to cure social anxiety, but in the long run it will worsen it.

Don't take too much caffeine! Caffeine is another powerful stimulant that has a bad effect on your anxiety levels. You don't need to stop completely, but you should avoid taking too much.
