subject: Cellphone Accessories For The Holidays [print this page]

If you're stuck on what to get people for Christmas, look into cellphone accessories. By now, just about everyone has a cellphone most technophobes probably have some basic form of the device so some kind of cellphone accessory is a pretty safe bet for a holiday gift.

Let's start with the basics:

Cellphone case

You can have a lot of fun picking out cellphone cases. There are literally hundreds of designs for any given model, so you'll have no trouble finding something for everyone.

Bluetooth headset

A Bluetooth headset isn't just for drivers it's perfect for anyone who loves to multitask, or works with their hands through most of the day. (Recommended: Jawbone or Jabra Bluetooth headsets)

Screen protectors

There's nothing worse than having a new phone and finding scratches on the screen. Find out the exact model of the gift recipient and get him or her a pack of them.

Phone cleaning kit

Cell phones use LCD screens, so it's best to use a specific type of solution when you clean them. Find a kit that includes the solution, a small brush for the keyboard and a cloth for the body.

Now, onto the not-so-basic:

External camera phone lens

Most cellphones have pretty simple cameras with limited zooms. A lot of companies have started making external lenses for mobile phones, which can increase the zoom level or let you take pictures with funny filters. (Recommended: Kaleidoscope lens)

Tripod

If you're going to get an external lens, help the recipient make the most of it with a tripod so you can take more stable photos and avoid blur.

Charms

Cellphone charms are a super-simple way to up the fancy-factor on a phone. Unfortunately, not all phones come with a spot to loop them (smartphones are usually the biggest culprits), so make sure you check to see what kind of phone the recipient has before giving him or her any. (Recommended: tiny jars with live cacti inside)

Skins

Cellphone skins are sort of like cases, but they're less about protection and more about style. Like cases, there are hundreds of style for any given model. They're often cheaper than cases, though, so you could get a set of them. (Recommended: wood grain skins)

A funny handset

Look for special handsets that will plug right into a cellphone but make it look like the user is talking on something other than a cellphone, like, for instance, a retro-style handset.

A portable charger

Perfect for those who tend to forget to charge their phones and don't see an outlet in site or just don't have their regular charger with them. As long as they keep the portable charger fully (which runs off a batter itself and plugs right into headphone jacks) supped up, they'll be good to go.

There are a number of other cellphone accessories you can choose from; new ones are being developed every day, which means you might even be all set for next Christmas as well.
