BUT first... a CONFESSION:
When I first got started marketing online, I make a ton of mistakes. I jumped, bumped and lurched around looking for the FASTEST way to make a full time living online, and probably bought every "guru" product or program on the market for 2 years straight. While I'd find an occasional gem... for the most part, the vast majority of the products I bought were BAD, and more often than not, ONLY designed to get me to buy more products... more programs... and more silly strategies until I had nothing left to give.
That was of course, until I discovered article marketing.
Here was the challenge:
I needed to find out how to MOST productively use my articles to generate the MOST traffic, the most sales, and the MOST profitable progress in my business, without wasting more time, energy, effort and income.
What I learned? If I had to distill, retrospectively... my 3 or 4 years of using articles to generate MILLIONS of readers, in 20 or 30 niches, tens of thousands of subscribers, and the lifestyle I enjoy today in a few simple KEY distinctions and distillations, it would be these:
Specificity SELLS... and in every niche. In your ARTICLE titles. In your resource boxes. And most importantly, in the PROMISE you make (and meet) in the content itself.
Titillate with your titles: Longer titles WORK... period. The longer the better... and this works, in my experience, both on the directories themselves... as well as in the search engine results, later. Use as many characters you can in your title, and make a BIG (and specific) promise, and you'll do FAR better than those who don't.
If you are an affiliate marketer like ME... the BIGGER the niche, the better your articles will do. (and the more success you'll have) Stay away from micro niches... from little itty bitty niches and swim in the warm and welcoming waters of the OCEANS of opportunity. Dating... diet... divorce... and markets with endless evergreen avalanches of traffic are where the BIG money is, and where smart article marketers swim.
Optimize your resource boxes... OFTEN. I change my resource boxes more often than other people change their socks. (I don't wear socks... as I have pretty sexy feet and prefer warm weather climates where I can show them off) The difference between a 10% click through rate and a 30% click through rate can be the difference between struggling to make an occasional sale or two... and living a life of phenomenal fun and financial freedom.

I Invite you to stop buying guru products... programs and promotions and START writing articles. Create content in areas you are most passionate about... have advise or expertise to offer, or simply become a MERCENARY marketer in any affiliate area you choose.
