Audi has been producing the TT since 1998, it is a two door sports car manufactured by the German car company. The Audi TT is now in its second generation and both generations have been available in two body styles - as a 2+2 Coupe, or two-seater Roadster.

The new Audi TT in Ipswich was introduced in 2006, it featured Audis new wrap around line and angular curves, sometimes referred to as the Shooting Brake two door hatchback body style. The mark two also introduced the first ever diesel Audi TT, it has a 2.0 litre TDi engine producing 168bhp.

In November 2010 Audi presented the concept of a GT4 car based on the Audi TT. The TT GT4 has been designed and built in a collaboration consisting of Audi Technical Development department, Audi Production division and Quattro GmbH. The TT GT4 is intended to extend Audi's new modular customer sport program from 2012 forward.

The GT4's concept platform is a motorsport body with a roll-over cage, a safety-optimised fuel tank box and further modifications which will be identical for all future customer sport versions. The Audi TT is equipped with a TFSI engine delivering about 340 bhp. The front apron, rear apron and the rear wing stem from the Audi TT RS. The bonnet, doors and boot lid are made of CFRP and the windows of plastic. The Audi TT is fitted with an S-tronic transmission with a differential lock, a modified production suspension with adjustable dampers, plus 9.5 x 18 inch light alloy wheels.

Audi wants to offer potential customers a base option for affordable motorsport. The Audi TT GT4 is planned to sell for about 120,000 Euros and will be available in China as well as Europe.
