Audi, the German car manufacturer has reported its sales figures for November. Audi which is part of the larger VW Group reported a global sales increase of 5.2% compared to last year, Audi sold 87,050 units in November alone.

2010 has been a difficult year for car manufacturers globally, the growth of the automotive market in China has helped manufacturers through these troubled times. So far this year Audi has sold 1,003,900 cars globally surpassing the record of 1,003,469 set back in 2008.

Audi mentioned in its press statement that last months sales were primarily driven by growth in the US and China, demand in its homeland of Germany had also increased. Sales in China were up 7.2% year on year, 17,692 units were sold n the merging market. Sales in the US increased by a staggering 38%, over 9,000 cars were sold in the states. German customers bought 22,055 Audi cars in November an increase of 1.0% year on year.

Peter Schwarzenbauer from the Audi managing board said, "Despite the high growth of recent months in China, Germany will once again win the head-to-head race among our biggest markets in 2010".

The release of the Audi A1, the Audi A7 and the A5 Sportback have no doubt helped the likes of the Audi dealer in Norfolk become more recognised of late. The A1 Supermini has been marketed extremely well, on its release it was driven through the streets of London by celebrities, gaining national press coverage and generating online buzz. The A7 has some very sophisticated technology not seen in an Audi before and the A5 Sportback is stylish, has sporty looks and is very practical.
