Are you struggling to build a list? Do you NOT have money to waste on PPC... or have you learned the hard way that Twitter, Facebook and other social marketing mediums are GREAT for making friends, but NOT so much for building a list? Let's be honest for a few minutes. You've heard lots of people say that the FORTUNE is in the list... and the truth is, it really is. You CAN make pretty good money with lots of static websites, review blogs, affiliate arbitrage techniques and all the rest, but if you want to become financially FREE online, you've got to do that with by building relationships.
The problem with most list building strategies is that they are doomed to fail, for 98% of the population, before they begin. They're either WAY too expensive (like PPC) or are ANNOYING and get "slapped" as a result. (like lots of the Twitter and Facebook techniques)
The SMART strategies are ALWAYS the ones that are evergreen... are ethical, and can be scaled UP and out once you've got them down. The approach I'm going to share with you below I've used in 5 niches over the last few years... and it works EQUALLY as well today, as it did in 2008.

What do you need to do?
You've got to pick a HIGH volume niche... something with at least 1 million searches a month. Diet... Dating... Divorce, and those types of evergreen topics are best.
Pick ONE high EPC product to recommend, and 2 secondary offers that are either supplemental, or solid alternatives to the first.
Write 7-10 articles a day on the BROAD niche... and submit these to the article directories. (NOTE: I can write 1 article every 20 minutes or BETTER... so this is NOT difficult, and only should require 3 hours a day. THIS article took me 12 minutes, so it's NOT a stretch to do 10 a day and still have MOSTLY free time thereafter... :-)
Put a SIMPLE opt in form on your landing page. (can even be a one dollar.info domain name if you don't want to spend 10 bucks for a.com)
BIG Tip! Write your follow up sequence FIRST. I like to have my sequence written in advance of the actual articles... as I find it helps my product conversions AND the click through rate on the articles themselves
Follow UP and follow through. 10 Articles, as many days of the week as you are able... 5 or 6 is obviously optimal, and I've found that we've been able to consistently use this approach to build BIG lists of 10,000 subscribers or more, in MAJOR markets, in under 90 days... using ONLY free traffic as above. Remember, you can then leverage these lists by cross promoting products, sites, services and even affiliate offers, as they are GENERAL enough to be mutually interested in a wide variety of stuff. (i.e. - dating and divorce subscribers are often VERY open to diet offers by definition, and visa versa!)
