Automobile Data - Safety Rules On The Road

As the rise of traffic accidents is beginning to occur frequently every now and then, we all need to stop for a while and review a few rules of the road. While you may not learn everything from most driving schools or state driver's guidebook, these tips will aid you to be a better driver.

The lane on the left is for passing vehicles. If you want to pass, do it carefully and fast. Some states have regulations that don't allow "driving" in passing lanes, leaving it clear for overtaking vehicles.

When someone is attempting to merge onto the main road and you have elbow room, go over to the lane to the left. It will assist to avert a traffic incident or in some way make another person's day a little better.

Be wary of large vehicles and their driving manners. Tractor trailers, dump trucks, and other heavy vehicles can't stop quickly as you can. Think about it the next time you squeeze in front of a heavy vehicle at the stop signal. Also, heavy vehicles while on the main road will slow down while moving up high hills but pick up speed on the downhill side. This can lead to a game of leap frog which may upset both you, and the truck driver. If manageable, try to get far enough in front of the truck to ward off excessive overtaking!

Utilise your turn signals. I swear they seem to be optional in some cars, considering most people don't utilise them. They serve as a guide to guide your companion drivers on where you wish to go.

I guess this has been a shortlist of my preferences, but I trust it will help you have a better road experience in the course of your journey. Always remember, we all share the road and with our collective efforts we can make it safer.
