subject: New Dell Laptop [print this page] Last year on my birthday my wife surprised me with a brand new Dell laptop. The computer was been purchased from the Best Buy with a year guaranty. For about six months the computer worked completely fine but about a month ago the machines screen started freezing every half n hour. It started acting weird. So I brought my machine to the local Geek Squad service station. After a week I received my machine back. The Geek squad agents in the store said that they replaced my hard drive too along with the frozen screen. They said they replaced my hard drive because it was defective, even though it was only six months old and not even been used so heavily. And my hard drive never exhibited any problems till date. The problem was just the screen and they didnt ask for any permission for this neither I had the option of declining that repair. I wasnt happy at all. Now after I brought it back home and then I realized that I lost all my data that was there in the earlier drive. Naturally the company will not take the charge of it. And later I realized that I had some very important data in my earlier drive. So I called them up and I asked for my last hard drive. I was very firm on getting it back and I also threatened them a little bit for giving it back to me. After receiving it I replaced it back in my machine with a help of my friend. And when I opened it I couldnt find any of my data in there. That was super frustrating for me. I realized the importance of backing up things. And now I want my files back. I couldnt do except howling.
My friend suggested me about PC restore, I went through the process three times and each time I got the error of No Network Connection. I thought of making all the presentations again as they were important and official stuff I wasnt allowed to lose them like that. I was very depressed and tired of this mess. The problem was small could have been a small solution rather the Geek Squad made such a fuss for me. Now I had to deal with it. i was on the verge of starting all over again and suddenly I could see my boss calling me. That was a frightening moment. I picked up the call and in a soft and relaxed voice greeted my boss. He asked me few queries about the presentation that I recently lost. I couldnt resist myself and told my boss everything. Though he was a little mad at me but he gave me a suggestion of using a application called Support Dock, which can restore my deleted stuff. After I hung up his phone I surfed about Support Dock and I realized that this company iYogi provides support for downloading and installing this Support Dock.
I instantly called them up, though I was a little scared after what I had recently gone through another tech support. My call got connected to this young man named Mark. He heard me patiently and then guided me the steps for downloading and installing the Support Dock. After the whole process of installation he then also instructed me how to restore my things back. I followed it carefully and I finally got all my things back in place exactly in similar manner. I was very thankful to iYogi for getting me out of this mess. Bless iYogi!!!
