Make Your own Draco Malfoy Costume!

He is from the Slytherin house, whose colors are green and silver. You'll have to show these off on a tie, scarf, and robe.

Slytherin Scarf: You can make a Slythering scarf by crocheting, knitting, or felting. Note that the knit scarf pattern has thick blocks of color instead of the thin lines of the older students' Slytherin scarf.

Slytherin Tie: You must use a silver enamel paint that you also use to paint a model car. Fabric paint is not a good choice in this case, so rather try silver enamel paint that will nicely soak into the tie for a more natural look.

Hint: use a ruler against your brush to help getting straight lines.

Make two thick lines, skip an inch, and make a very thin line. Skip another inch and repeat this pattern.

The Wand: One of the easiest parts of the costume. You just have to look for a thin stick that you think would be suitable as a wand. You only have to peel it with a knife and use sandpaper for polishing. For a whittle end, shave the end of it (with adult supervision).

The Hair: Draco wears platinum blond locks cut across above the ears. You may know it by the name of 'bowl cut', because this style can be achieved by putting a bowl on top of your head and cutting around it. For a younger Malfoy look, slick the hair back to the left side. The older Malfoy styles the bangs of his center part of his hair with gel, slightly parting it at the center of the forehead, with the bangs still hanging in the eyes.

In terms of color, I recommend a cheap wig for ten bucks, rather than bleaching your hair, as it can be very hard, especially when you have darker hair.

The Clothes: Check out some local thrift shops for the elements. Find a white button-down shirt and a black west to wear over it. Put on a pair of black slacks and black dress shoes.

Now that your costume is done, I can only hope you won't end up paralyzing your buddies with offensive spells!
