Be a Volunteer teacher to Teach and Tour Thailand!

There's a way by which you could be multi-tasking! How about touring the beautiful country of Thailand while doing something useful such as being a volunteer teacher? All you need to have is a love for children and the basic knowledge of English, besides a craving to meet people and vibe with them. If all this is applicable then you could be a volunteer teacher of the beautiful children of Thailand.

Of course there are other projects as well. For instance you could be involved in a medical project in a hospital or be in Surin or Maehongson working in childcare. You could be involved with the animal conservation project helping gibbons or elephants and sea turtles or rescued dogs in Phuket or Rayong. You need not be an architect but you could be involved in one of the building projects by helping to build a home for homeless children. But if you wish to be a volunteer teacher, you could select the level of your students and whether you would like to teach in one of the orphanages or at the primary school level. You could also opt for the secondary school level volunteer teaching depending on your aptitude and desire. You may even get involved with schools that care for children with special needs.

While you are involved in volunteer teaching to the children of Thailand, if you wish you may stay in Surin and see the true Thailand. You could stay for a longer period of time here and visit interesting places that are totally removed from the tourist trail. You could make this project a part of your curriculum or treat it as a holiday but you can imagine the satisfaction you will draw while teaching a child English or helping a child with special needs, knowing that unlike in the west, Thailand does not have special schools for such children. As a volunteer teacher you could pick a special four-week placement in July/August, when you could combine both teaching and touring. So you teach for two weeks, then tour for the remaining two weeks and go about exploring the unspoilt countryside of Surin.
