Terra Marketing Group, a growing Edmonton based Internet marketing firm, is working with The Christmas Bureau to provide food hampers to 15 large Edmonton families so they can feast on the holiday.

Company officials said they were proud to work with The Christmas Bureau, because it is one of the longest running and most respected nonprofit institutions in Edmonton.

They truly understand the effects of poverty at the local level, a company official said. They know who really needs help and how to help provide for them.

The company CEO and one of his coworkers will be personally be delivering the hampers on Christmas morning. The families each of which has roughly seven members will be selected by the staff of the Christmas Bureau.

We strongly believe that people have a right to have a traditional Christmas dinner, he said. And we believe that those of us who can afford to do so are obligated to help them when we can.

The food hampers contain everything needed for a traditional Christmas dinner including turkey, ham, vegetables, potatoes, cranberry sauce, soup, coffee, peanut butter, cookies, candy, marmalade, stuffing and butter.

Terra Marketing Group is an online firm that targets emerging niche marketplaces on the Internet. When they see a developing market, they evaluate the existing products and services, find ways to improve them and then seek to eventually dominate that particular marketplace.

Then, they set aside a certain amount of their profits for global charities including Samaritan's Purse and Kiva, and then volunteer their time for local organizations including The Mustard Seed food bank or Santas Anonymous.

We believe in being responsible corporate citizens and good neighbors to the people in the Edmonton community, the company official said. We don't want to have to think that there are people we could have helped who will go hungry on Christmas.

Terra Marketing Group has also purchased hundreds of games and toys that they will donate to Santas Anonymous to be given out on Christmas Eve to families who cannot afford to buy presents for their children.

We believe in the spirit of Christmas and want to make sure that children and families have a great traditional holiday, he said.
