subject: A List Of Questions To Ask New Home Builders [print this page]

Whether one needs Sacramento new home builders or new home builders somewhere else, one should always be throughout with their questions. After all, those who don't ask don't get answers. Those who don't get answers end up wishing they had gotten answers given the fact that they will most likely end up with something they didn't want. When it comes to all functional and interior design elements, there is nothing better than to ask questions upfront.

The first question to ask the new home builders is what their warranty is, how long it lasts and what all it covers. Warrantees are important. They can end up saving hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Those who do not offer warrantees are those who often do not think their own work could not represent them and their company well. Don't waste time with those who do not have good warrantees.

The second question one should consider is that of a time frame. Any home builder or remodeler will give an estimate at the beginning of the job. Unfortunately, that's just what it is - an estimate. Usually, the time frame changes several times throughout the project. It's a good idea to ask about what could cause that time frame to be delayed and sped up to get a more accurate idea of what to expect.

The third question to ask is how familiar the Sacramento remodels team is with the design of the remodel or build. Building a familiar design will eliminate many novice mistakes that might otherwise have been made. Leave the guinea pig test runs to other builders and be sure to pick a remodel team that has a design they are familiar with.

Lastly, be sure to quiz the builders about their work history and references. The best way to find out where someone is going is to see where they have been. If customers are unhappy with services provided, chances are that the builder in question will continue to collect unhappy customers. Don't make a mistake and become one of them because work history wasn't checked and references weren't called. This is something that everyone can and should do so it's a good idea to go ahead and do it.

So remember as selecting a new home builder to ask them about their warranty, time frame, and familiarity with design as well as their history and work references. The answers to these questions will determine how reliable the builders are and whether or not the project will turn out well.
