subject: Telephone Message Software Can Be Customized [print this page]

Does your business have a competitive advantage? Is there something about it which makes it unique?

If so, it stands to reason that the workflow of your organization differ from others. The standard forms that you can buy at the stationary store can serve most of your needs but they can never be a perfect fit.

Standard forms have great value in allowing you to implement "good enough" solutions quickly. But once you are ready to move beyond that, there is a tug between what you want and effort of procuring it.

When we designed our telephone message software, we faced this issue. One common form is the "While You Were Out" telephone message. Just how common this is, is shown by a Google search for this exact phrase returning over 1 million hits and many different form images containing this exact wording. This form is so standard that the placement, order, and wording of elements are the same from many different suppliers.

But this standard form, while "good enough" can surely be improved.

We resolved this by implementing an absolutely standard While You Were Out message in software. That form cannot be edited or altered. But it can be cloned (copied) and the clone edited to add or alter fields in the TelephoneMessagePad.com software. Perhaps there is different information you want to capture depending on type of call? You can color code the messages and/or create multiple variants. See http://www.telephonemessagepad.com/custom.php

Perhaps you would like to capture all call records. A call may come in intended for one of the staff but the receptionist appears to have handled the call. In an office using While You Were Out forms, this situation is not well defined. The assumption of the While You Were Out form is that additional follow-up is required and so if the receptionist has addressed the issue, may not make a record. With TelephoneMessagePad telephone message software, you can create a form to cover this situation and now capture that conversation. Indeed, forms can be tailored to staff situations so that each person who talks to the caller can record their part of the conversation.

TelephoneMessagePad ( http://www.TelephoneMessagePad.com/ ) is available in 3 editions: installed on individual Windows computers, installed on a central Windows computer and accessed by multiple users via web browser, or as a subscription service accessible world-wide by your far-flung staff on any device having a modern web browser (PC, Mac, Android, iPad, iPod, etc.).
