The Money You Will Save When You Truly Quit Smoking

Take out a pen right now and calculate how much money you will save yourself. It's easy.

Let's say that you smoke a pack a day at about $3.50 per pack. Now multiply that by 365. This will give you a figure of $1277.50 a year. You can easily halve or double that figure depending on if you smoke less or more.

That's a lot of $$$ when you think about it. How about if you were to invest that money in the stock market and let it grow at an average of 11% per year? You'd have over $80,000 after 20 years that you would otherwise have spent!

Think of the possibilities - that money could help your kid at college or help with a down payment on a house.

And some of you in high tax countries such as the United Kingdom could save even more. A pack costs closer to $10 and investing it would give you even greater compounded savings of closer to $200,000 over 20 years!!

The point I'm trying to make is that small savings now can grow over years to be a huge amount. Those cigs might be only costing you a few bucks per day right now but the hidden downside is that you could be investing that money instead and making it work for you.

Smoking is actually costing you your future financial health. Imagine being a non-smoker and having $80,000 available to you in 20 years time. What would you do with it?

Imagine going on a holiday to exotic islands. Does that beat smoking wasteful cigarettes everyday? I'm not sure about you, but it sounds good to me.
