Luxury watches have been deemed as a status symbol for as long as we can remember. These one of a kind timepieces symbolize success, luxury and all things opulent which makes people want to buy it. These timepieces are built to last forever and their value increase over time which definitely makes it a great investment. So if you're a collector or if you're thinking of starting a luxury watch collection, let me share to you some tips to get you started.

1. Brands, brands, brands. In luxury watches, it's all about the brand. Brands such as Rolex, Omega, Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet has been on the forefront of the luxury watch industry for as long as we can remember so it's best to invest in these top brands. You'll never go wrong with it, trust me.

2. Go for stainless steel watches. Leather watches are great watches but stainless steel watches are built to withstand time.

3. Go for vintage models. Vintage models are very rare which explains its skyrocketing values at present. If you can afford it, or if you can find one for that matter, buy it.

4. Think before you buy. These are not cheap watches that you can throw in the garbage if you're already sick of its design or if it's not working properly anymore. These are luxury watches which costs an arm and a leg so it's very crucial to think well. Design wise, style wise, brand wise before making that big splurge.

5. Keep all the documents that certifies the watch's authenticity. These documents adds up to the value of the watch so you have to keep them once you've made your purchase. If twenty or thirty years from now, you decide to sell the watch then you could sell it at the same value as when you bought it...or more!
