subject: Getting Around The House In Homeys Slippers [print this page]

After a long day at the office and a tiresome commute back home what a great feeling it is to kick off your shoes and slip into a pair of warm soft slippers. Where would you be without them? It may be a hot bath or a drink that crosses your mind first but not before those slippers are on. A long time ago when Granddad was just a boy, slippers only fell into two categories of style. One was the ubiquitous carpet slipper usually seen with an almost but not quite matching long dressing gown and the other were some dubious and uncomfortable looking leather slippers. Ah! Those were the days, the dark ages of style. Strange is it not to dwell upon the astonishing outlandish clothing of the Middle Ages and consider how the nineteenth and twentieth century gradually reduced the western world to drabness. From footwear to all other clothing, Beau Brummel had he returned in the 1920s would have despaired of somewhere like commuter land in London or New York. Imagine his astonishment at the regimented garb of your average commuter! All wearing grey suits with black shoes and boring raincoats. Marching like zombies to the office it would have seemed as though we had all become robots. Or what about bringing some character from the 16th or 17th or even 18th Century back to life in 1920. They may have marvelled at the rise of all the technological achievements, but they certainly would remain unimpressed with our style.

Nowadays, there are not only many more individual and sometimes outrageous styles of clothes and footwear available but fortunately there are individuals willing to wear them. Clothing makes a statement and when you get that along with comfort all is well. For example, take a look at homeys slippers and you will see a superb variety of colours and patterns. All these slippers are extremely comfortable. Make a statement with a pair of homeys slippers on your feet and feel the warmth and cosiness on a cold winters morning.

Slippers are worn in homes throughout the world and particularly with some religious cultures where it is frowned upon to wear shoes in the house. Most Eastern and oriental countries take a very dim view of visitors entering their homes still wearing outdoor shoes and it is quite usual for guest slippers to be offered on entry. Perhaps it is for this reason that with so much global travel that it is not uncommon to find new disposable slippers in very many Western hotel rooms these days. Perhaps we should take this custom into all our homes. Why not buy several pairs of homeys slippers and surprise and doubtless please your guests by offering them a pair to wear when they arrive on your threshold. Have you wondered how much street dirt is in your thick shag carpet as a result of people stepping all over it in their shoes or worse their boots?
