..instead regurgitating the same "advice" being offered by others, I thought a little clarity from my own experience would be helpful.
The FASTEST Way to make money from your articles?
Affiliate re-directs. Driving traffic from your articles, directly to the vendor of your choosing. (and of course, hyper related to the content you are creating)
Why is this BETTER than starting out with a list?
Good question! It's not really "better" per se....but in my experience, both personally and with others, it's cleaner, faster and more "do-able" for folks just getting started. For example? Most people (myself included) procrastinate, when first getting started online....... on writing the follow up messages, or the broadcasts that need to go out to convert your readers, into subscribers.
So what happens is, they'll write 10 articles, drive all those readers to an opt in page, capture 20-30% of those people to an auto-responder...and then DROP the ball completely on sending out the sequence of stuff that's going to make money. (often, I'll see people write 3 or 4 messages...and then STOP...... waiting for the cash to come in. When it doesn't, they feel like they've failed, and jump to another marketing strategy altogether)
The FACT is, if you are list building, and selling affiliate products, and REALLY want to make money, you've got to write 10, 20 or even 30 messages to really crush it with your content..:-) (if it's your OWN product or program, it's a bit different.....because you're going to be personally bonding through other mediums as well)
The antidote to the above?
Just use mercenary, affiliate re-directs. For example, in one market in 2009, I literally drove 100,000 people to ONE affiliate program JUST using articles like this one. (in a much more general interest niche of course) I didn't need to collect names, follow up with my readers, or focus on ANYTHING other than creating the content itself. The fact is, mercenary marketing methods like affiliate re-directs are a GREAT way to make a killing online....and BILLIONS of dollars a year is being done right now with nothing but a keyboard, a one page domain and a good affiliate program that you can promote with pride!
