Solar Outdoor Christmas Fairy Lights for the Garden

Now I don't know about anyone else out there, but as for me there was always a certain element of dread or loathing that came with the holiday season, and it basically revolved around stringing up the annual Christmas lights around the perimeter of our home. Now don't get me wrong because I'm definitely no Grinch.

It just seemed to me that there were areas for improvement. That's all, and after last season you can add the need for low voltage lighting to that list. The reason for this is after me and my husband finished setting them up, which took the better part of that day, no one could touch the rain gutter downspout beside the front porch without receiving an electrical shock.

So finally this season I decided I've had enough and almost decided that our family was going to be one of the few houses on the block that just didn't have them up. That was until I heard about these amazing new solar outdoor Christmas lights from my neighbour next door who had bought a set and was out stringing them up the early part of this month.

So let me tell you that these new holiday lights are literally everything that my older style cumbersome, and dangerous lights were not and not only that, the level of technology that's integrated into them is nothing short of amazing. Then the real kicker is how affordable they are, so I just couldn't pass them up.

To begin with, they're low voltage, so that completely does away with a 120 volt extension cord running from the house, out through the garden, and up to the lights. I never liked that set up. Also because they're low voltage, there's no more risk of our gutter system becoming electrified like it did last season.

Did I forget to mention that they're solar powered and that they run off of a smart, self contained solar panel that's about the size of your average sized book? My husband installed it up in a tree on the western side of our home, and it automatically turns the lights on each evening then off again as the sun comes up.

Let me tell you I feel like a kid with a new toy, and I just can't stop fiddling with the six incredible lighting modes. I'll start off in the early evening with "alternating blinks", then after about an hour I switch to "chasing" where lights look like they're running around our house then basically work my way through "fast flicker, fast flash, and slow flash as the night wears on. My husband thinks I've gone mad!

Another wonderful feature of these incredible LED fairy lights that also happen to be just as bright as our previous set of standard lights is that no matter how cloudy or overcast the day is they never run out of power. The reason for this, is the storage system automatically regulates and manages the power it has, so if the day was cloudy it simple dims the lights a bit to get them through the night.
