Obtaining Relief during Menopause

Menopause is one part of a woman's life, which brings several complicated emotions and ups and downs along. It is at times taken as being a sickness; truth is, it is a stage that is experienced by every woman during the time she has reached late adulthood.

Once a woman has reached the menopausal stage, the woman is no longer able to give birth as her menstrual cycle comes to a halt. This is why women go through different emotions, as some think it to be a good change which is likely to improve the relationship that they have with their spouse or partner, while the rest take it as a depressing point in life.

For some women, the fact that they cannot give birth anymore is what depresses them the most. The female quality that they have had and which is considered to be the sign of youth has been taken away, which is why they feel highly upset and incapable. Moreover, menopause also has some symptoms which are highly unpleasant, such as hot flashes and severe mood swings.

Yoga has been considered to be the best method of giving relief to women who go through menopause, as it contributes a lot in improving their emotional wellbeing. Most of the women who practice yoga consider it to be a useful technique.

If you have never done yoga before, you are advised to take some professional classes rather than simply following a book on yoga. This helps in providing a more vivid picture of what should be done, and in which way.

Also, one is better able to understand the various asanas and positions that should be practiced in order to get relief from menopausal symptoms, as certain asanas help in the elimination of mood swings.

You may become confused about what you should follow, as you will receive contradictory information from all sides. Some books suggest that only gentle postures should be practiced as they seem to help, while some instructors may give away their personal examples about how these postures created more difficulties, such as gain in weight and mood swings. Some of the postures that should be followed during menopause include half moon, triangle pose and standing postures.
