Jazz Music is the fusion of blues, rock and roll, ska, reggae, rhythm and blues, drum and bass and Latin. It originated in the 1920's in the African American communities in the United States' Southern areas. At the start of the 1920's, the influence of African and European music and culture helped in the development of Jazz. The beat consists of blues notes, polyrhythms, swing beats and improvisation. A typical jazz set up includes a big-band style of music with a little mix of everything. The sound of jazz cannot be described, as you need to listen to it for it to be appreciated.
