Potrerillos is a small summer village, full of weekend houses, and it is located a few hours away from the Executive Hotel, in Mendoza city. Entire families, both residents and visitors, choose this beautiful town for their vacations or simply for a lunch on Sunday.

Opened in 1942, the Potrerillos Grand Hotel stands out due to its 1st class accommodation, during the entire year. This lodgement is ideal for those who look for some rest the capital of the province, wishing peaceful walks over the area.

Like others in Cuyo region, the Mendoza River is the best to try some rafting, especially in the neighboring domains of Potrerillos, where it falls with great turbulence and power. You can also enjoy landscapes, by following trekking circuits, entirely unavailable from the route, or by climbing trails that guide to rising edges of ravines and hills, which go to heights with a privileged perspective of the valley. Another convenient alternative are the horseback rides, and, similar to trekking routes, it is recommended that you do it in company of trained guides. This way you can arrive to remote landscapes, only open for explorers who enjoy the wildness of nature. Other frequent activities in this region are climbing, camping, mountain biking and paragliding.

Potrerillos has a lot of currents with fascinating waterfalls and mountains of high walls, as well as the exquisite Andean flora and the great variety of birds of miscellaneous species.

In this region and continuing along the mountain road, you can find human and animal patterns drawn randomly in the rock of the mountain ranges. One of them, worth highlighting is "The Dog" (El Perro), which is on the way from Potrerillos to Uspallata. Even So, if you come from the opposite side, that figure resembles "The Puma". Two other classics of the area are "The Toad" (El Sapo) and "The Tortoise" (La Tortuga).

As you move away from the flora of the lowlands, the landscape gets more and more monotonous, and the trees are replaced by weeds. Even so, from time to time a brightly colored flower exhibits among the rocks.

When coming to Potrerillos, it is important to remember that there are no gas stations or whatsoever in almost 50 kilometers from there to Uspallata. As you move ahead, when you get near to the Executive Hotel, in Mendoza, you will find lots of them.
