Well the first thing you'll need is a product to promote. The easiest way to do this is go to clickbank (get a free account) and pick a product that pays 50% or higher commission and has a gravity of close to 100 or so.
Think about what market you would be be comfortable in when choosing a product. Health, wealth, or lifestyle are the 3 main markets. Make a point to stick to a market and product you have some knowledge in. You don't need to be an expert, but for your first couple projects stay in your comfort zone.
There is plenty of time to spread your wings further down the road!
Also the better converting companies (products) on clickbank will give you all the support you need, like images, banners, newsletters, pre-sell pages, articles, etc. They handle all the shipping, payment processing and customer service issues too. All you do is drive customers to your site. That's it!
Ok so now that you have decided on a product to promote, we just need a simple website (or blog) and some hosting. You could just go to blogger or wordpress and get a free blog hosted.
If you want to do this right then buy a domain for less than $10 and get some hosting for around $6 a month. I personally use godaddy. Use whoever you want.
You can re-direct your visitors right to the sales page (which only coverts at .5%), you can load the companies pre-sales page on your website (which converts much better 3%), or you can put up a
squeeze page on your site and give away the companies newsletter. This way you will not only make commissions, but you'll build a list at the same time.
If you wanna build a long term internet business, then build a list.
At this point your done building! Now you have a product, with your own website.
It's time to create traffic to our site. From this point forward that's the ONLY thing you'll focus on for this project. Now there are many ways to drive traffic to your website, many of them free.
Assuming your building your business on a budget, you'll probably want to start with free traffic methods. Don't fool yourself, you can generate traffic without spending money.
