Rome is a famous city that spans over 2500 years home on the western coast of Italy. The eternal city has a reputation of lasting through various conquerors, eras, and practically devastation. If you stay further away, you might find a better deal, and can take a bus or subway to reach the attractions. The Coliseum is possibly one of the most famous landmarks in the world. It is a dramatic sight to experience. You can almost hear the gladiators and lions as you walk through the ruins of one of the most recognisable buildings in the world.
The Vatican City is another of Rome's favorite tourist destinations and as such may get very busy at times. The Vatican City State (usually called the Vatican City) is located in the middle of Rome and is an independent country with an area of approximately half a square kilometer. Only limited sections of the Vatican City are open to the public, but those available are exceptionally interesting and very popular with most visitors to Rome.
