The Hell's gate National Park covers approximately an area of 68.25km2. It is located some 90km away from Nairobi around the Lake Naivasha environs. It is 14km away after the turn off from the old Nairobi-Naivasha highway. It is a home for the lammergeyer. It has a very beautiful and diverse topography and scenery. It is in the Nakuru District, Rift Valley Province. It is also called the Njorowa Gorge. Masaai people are the ones mostly found in this place.
The climate around the place is warm and dry. There gives tourists a chance to visit the National park almost all year round. You can get to the place by road. The park is accessible via tarmac from Nairobi. The park has viewing circuits and a number or roads that criss cross the park. It has two gates that can be used by visitors. These are the Elsa gate and the Olkaria gate. Olkaria gate also serves the Olkaria Geothermal Station which is inside the park.
The wildlife here is a major attraction. Others come to see the geothermal station, Masai culture, scenic landscape, hot springs, gorge walk and raptor nesting in cliffs. There are Bandas such as the Naivasha Guest House where one can spend the night. Campsites such as the Oldubai, Naiburuta and Endacha are also very famous. There are picnic sites such as the Gorge, Fisher's Tower and Obsidian Cave. Activities such as hiking, camping, rock climbing; biking, bird watching and wild life viewing are the most popular in the Hell's Gate.
