I don't know about you, but I have to admit-- I am not fond of having yard sales. In fact, I've only had one yard sale of my own and helped my daughter and her college friends do one a couple of summers ago. It's just not worth it to me to make a few hundred dollars and stand outside all day and have people rummage through my stuff and ask what else I have. That said, I have done yard sales for my church and usually end up getting into a bit of a groove with the yard sale experts. Here's the thing, it still seems like a small ROI (return on investment) for the amount of time we collectively spend on gathering the goods for sale, sorting the goods, selling the goods and then carting off the goods that were not sold. If you add everyone's time who was involved it seems like it would come out to less than minimum wage. So this year I have come up with a solution. Actually I thought a couple of years ago but this year I actually implemented it.
This past Sunday at church I challenged everyone to participate in a virtual yard sale...
