Father's Day represents the image of God in human form. The bible informs us God created man in His own likeness, meaning He created man and woman in his likeness. Men were created to expand God's kingdom and is responsible for the condition and circumstances of his family.

We all have our own unique beliefs and are free to decide what we believe and how we believe it. I am writing this article about Father's Day because it represents one of the primary tenets of God and that is for a man to take care of his family.
I am more fortunate than some of my peers in that I was born into a family with a mother and father who were married, thus I had a model to follow as it pertains to fatherhood. My mother and father were married 41 years prior to my mother passing away, thus my model communicated exactly what the bible said, when a man finds a woman he finds a good thing.
My father was not perfect by any stretch of the imagination and never am I as a father. The things my father taught me about being a father resonated with me and today I am married and my wife and I have been married for seven years and have two beautiful children.
I provide for my wife and children financially, purchased a house for us, transportation, clothing, medical care and food. More important than the trappings of life is the fact my lifestyle affords me an opportunity to spend a lot of time with my children every day. We eat breakfast lunch and dinner together, go to restaurants, attend church, shop together and take vacations together.
The reason why Father's Day is one of the most important observances of the year is because it is in the likeness of God. God is within me and it is my responsibility to live according to God's will and rearing my children the right way is important to me.
My wife and I grew up in families with both parents and we are blessed and thankful for the experience. Its empowering to know your children love you unconditionally and it inspires me to be the best father I can possibly be. Whether its joining the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at my daughters school or participating on one of her field trips, there is incredible value in supporting your children, no matter what.
Leading, molding and guiding our children is the key to making the world a better place. Be the best father you can be and your children will grow up with you to respect and honor you.
